Step 3: Master Image Creation

This also requires a burned master copy that you can use in your computer. Steps below include pictures for the ease of understanding. Click on links to open pictures. Do not make a master of any CD-R that has not been fully tested or listened to. Making an image will not correct issues.

1. Go to this page and download Image Burn. This is a free application.
2. Follow the installation instructions to set up Image Burn.
3. Place your master CDR/DVDR in your CD/DVD drive and close it.
4. Create a folder on your desktop and please name it in the format of "customer_name_master.zip". For instance our company folder would be "SNJCD Master"
5. Launch the Image Burn application and select "Create image file from disc"
6. Set the destination location to the "customer_name_master.zip" folder you made on your desktop
7. Set the Read Speed to 4x / 8x
8. Create the Master Image.
9. Please do not interfere with the creation of the image and try to leave the computer alone until you see the "Operation Successfully Completed" message.
10. When finished close Image Burn. Go to the master image folder you created on your desktop. Verify that there is now a new file or files in that folder.
11. Zip up the master image folder that you created. This is accomplished in XP and Vista by right clicking the folder (not the image file), selecting "send to", then Compressed (zipped) folder. This will take a few minutes or longer depending on how large the image file in the folder is. Be patient.
12. Zip up the master folder containing all of your artwork files using the same step as above. Please make sure you use our templates for the design.
13. Send the zipped master image folder and zipped artwork folder to us using the upload form on the next page. This requires a password that we will send to you after we receive your faxed order form.
14. We will follow up with proofs and a MD5 summation file for you to verify that we have burned your master image correctly. A PDF will be emailed to you with instructions on how to compare the MD5 report back to your master to verify that our masters are the same. Any duplication or replication will not occur until we receive approval from you.
